Cypress Row Hospitality Group Acquires Historic Erie Food Market

DANBURY TOWNSHIP, OH – March 28, 2025 – Cypress Row Hospitality Group LLC (Cypress Row) is proud to announce the acquisition of Erie Food Market, effective April 1st, 2025. This strategic acquisition represents a commitment to preserving and building upon one of Danbury Township’s longest-operating businesses.

Located at the corner of North Shore Boulevard and Erie Beach Road, Erie Food Market has been a cornerstone of the local community for over a century. Established between 1914 and 1919, the market has continuously served residents and visitors of Erie Beach and Lakeside neighborhoods, known particularly for its quality meat selection.

“We’re honored to become stewards of such a beloved local institution,” said James Beardsley, CEO of Cypress Row Hospitality Group LLC. “Erie Food Market has been a vital part of this community for generations, and we’re committed to honoring its rich heritage while bringing fresh energy to its next chapter.”

The market, which has operated under various names including Erie Beach Market, Erie Beach Grocery, and Erie Grocery throughout its history, has remained an essential service provider through significant local developments, including the era of interurban railways and the opening of North Shore Boulevard to motor traffic in 1952.

Cypress Row plans to maintain the market’s traditional strengths while introducing thoughtful enhancements to the customer experience. The company emphasizes their focus will be on building upon the legacy that previous owners have established, particularly the Wise family who has owned the market since 1991.
